Who We Are

The Lexington Chapter, NSDAR was formed on October 19, 1895. The chapter draws its members from Lexington and many surrounding towns. You do not need to live in Lexington to become a member. Membership is open to any woman, 18 years or older, who can show direct lineage to a man or woman who aided the cause of the American Revolutionary War.

We are a vibrant, diverse, and engaged group of women. We are descendants of 18th century men and women who aided the cause of American independence. We honor their efforts through service in our communities in the areas of education, historic preservation, and patriotism. Our chapter honors over 200 members, ranging in age from 18 to 101. We are students, doctors, homemakers, computer experts, conservationists, nurses, educators, retirees, test pilots, writers, social workers and much, much more. We are "Today's DAR"!

If you think you have found a connection to the American Revolution in your genealogy research and are interested in joining, please contact us! For more information about how you can become a member of the Lexington Chapter, NSDAR click here.
